About us

Anton Lanz was founded in 1936 by taking over a sawmill in Mühlbach. At the beginning it was still a small sawmill, which grew steadily over the years under the management of Anton Lanz.

In the autumn of 1966 the product range of the company was extended by adding a chipboard production to the sawmill.

In 1990 the company founder handed over the company to his son Konrad Lanz. Konrad Lanz repositioned the company and switched production to the manufacture of glue-laminated beams.

Over the years, the product range has been expanded to include round arches of all shapes and sizes. For more than 25 years now, glulam in spruce and larch has been produced in Mühlbach/Northern Italy.

With more than 90 years of experience and work with the raw material wood, flexibility in production, work to measure and speed of delivery, customers are guaranteed first-class quality and service.

The passion for wood and the motto “small but fine” is continued today with the grandchildren of the founder, Stephan and Benedikt Lanz.

The company Anton Lanz GmbH has a certificate of constancy of performance from the MPA-Stuttgart test centre, CE certification and the PEFC certificate.

Foundation

1936-1966

Sawmill

Traditional sawmill for spruce and larch.
1966- 1990

Chipboard production

In 1966 the sawmill was followed by a chipboard production facility.
1990 - Heute

Glulam production

New positioning under Konrad Lanz with the start of glulam production.

Large storage areas

We have a large stock of raw lamellas in both larch and spruce. In order to be able to guarantee our customers fast delivery, we have a total stock of over 3,000m³ for both types of wood (spruce/larch) and lamella thicknesses (40mm and 33.3 mm lamellas).

Glulam Separation

In the fall of 2025, we installed a resaw bandsaw after the beam planer to be able to offer our customers small cross-sections starting from a width of 4 cm and a height of up to 1.10 m in the future. This allows special cross-sections to be produced with minimal waste, as there is no need to plane down larger sections.
